Business Intelligence Reporting Architect

Our client, a leading insurance company is currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Intelligence Reporting Architect to serve as lead reporting application architect, subject matter expert, lead developer for BI Reporting development efforts, and Cognos Administrator. 

This is a critical role with in the organization; roles and responsibilities include:

• Define and Evolve The Reporting Architecture For Thye Business Unit
• Define and evolve best practices for reporting architecture
• Determine appropriate technologies and architecture for each reporting application project within BI
• Provide technical oversight and subject matter expertise to developers and database administrators in support of the construction of multidimensional cubes, reports, and other user facing business intelligence applications 
• Lead reporting application performance tuning necessary to meeting Service Level Agreements
• Work closely with product support area on product review, product upgrades and product optimization
• Mentor and help train developers

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Must have excellent understanding and experience with building and deploying Business Intelligence applications
• Experience with Cognos v7 and v8, and Microsoft Analysis Services
• Proven experience performing similar functions described above
• Ability to provide technical vision and recommend solutions
• Excellent ability to clearly communicate with team members and customers
• 4-6 years full-life cycle applications development experience
• Ability to work with very little supervision. Must possess a high-level of attention to details

OTHER SKILLS AND JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare or assist with technical specifications as required
• Develop accurate and complete estimates.
• Develop detailed level task plans and prioritize work units as required
• Sets checkpoints and follow established processes to ensure quality of deliverables and compliance with standards.
